Q: How do I set FlyLive up with OBS?
FlyLive doesn't work like some other FS streaming suites. Instead of creating a pre-defined layout with all the text, fonts and colors locked, FlyLive exports text files into a directory of your choice. The text files contain data regarding your aircraft and flight - these can be put into OBS. This way, the user can choose their own fonts, colors, layouts, as well as design their own overlay in their favorite program.
Q: Why won't FlyLive connect?
Make sure that you have FSUIPC (for FSX/P3D) or XPUIPC (for X-Plane) installed correctly. Your simulator also needs to be running.
Q: The landing rate widget shows on my screen but not on the stream.
The landing rate widget shows as a separate window which shows over your simulator. Thus, if you use a window/game capture for your simulator, the landing rate will not show up. Instead, you must use the display capture.
Q: Why won't the ETA show?
There is a bug with FlyLive where the ETA sometimes doesn't show upon reaching cruise. To force the ETA to show, simply open the flight dispatcher window and "apply" the flight again. The ETA should show, assuming all of the information entered was correct.
Q: Help, where is the stream button?
Hesitate not, FlyLive is not a streaming client like OBS or Xsplit. Its an addition to it, so you still have the flexibility of your current software.
Q: Why doesn't the Landing Rate widget detect the Landing Rate correctly?
You may be mistaken yourself. Your landing could have been softer or harder than what you think it was. If there is a problem, check your FSUIPC and/or close off some RAM-consuming programs.
Q: Why do I keep getting the "Access Denied" error?
Run the installer/app as administrator. If you don't have administrator privileges, you cannot install and use FlyLive. If you do, but there isn't an option to run as administrator, contact me.
Q: I run my streaming software and Flight Simulator on separate computers. What do I do?
You will need to purchase WideFS (http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson-widefs7.phtml ) from SimMarket for €24 if you want to use the flight labels. WideFS ports FSUIPC data over your network to other PCs. Think of it like a "Virtual FSUIPC Client". I know this ie a huge hassle and a bit expensive; however, there is no other known way to do it. If you want to use the Landing Rate Widget, you should run FlyLive on your Flight Simulator PC and set it up like normal.
Q: How do I add the progress bar?
Go into OBS and add a window capture, then select this window:
[FlyLive.exe]: FlyLive Progress Bar - Add this window to put a progress bar into your stream!
In order to change the colors of it, you must go into FlyLive, then click the '+' at the top right. From there you may change the colors with ease,
